Katie & Richard are married!

Earlier in 2017, we had the pleasure of photographing Lauren & John’s wedding at Morgan Manufacturing in Chicago. A few short weeks after their wedding, we got an email from Katie & Richard. They saw us in action at Lauren & John’s wedding and were now getting married themselves. They expressed how excited they were for their big day at the North Shore Country Club! When we get referrals from past couples and their friends, it’s the ultimate honor. Katie & Richard had the unique experience of seeing us in action, saw how weird we are and they still wanted to work with us! 😉

The week leading up to the wedding day was super mild, November weather. It was sunny and leaning into the low 50’s. As we checked the forecast for the wedding day, things turned. The forecast actually described the weather as being “raw”. We asked ourselves several times what this meant! The wedding day came and we realized… “oh, this is raw weather (bro)”.

Although the wind was strong, and the rain was freezing, Katie laughed her way through the morning. Posing her for photographs by the windows, she cracked jokes about how terrible the weather outside was. Did she stop smiling? Nope. There are several things you can control on the wedding day but the weather is not one of them. Might as well roll with the punches!

Together, Katie & Richard said their favorite parts of the day were “Getting ready with friends and family, the ceremony and Father Marty’s homily and dancing!” This wasn’t the first time we worked with Michael Walters Orchestra and we hope it won’t be the last. They rock. the. house. The dance floor was so packed, it was hard to get in there for photographs! Seriously, if you’re looking for a band, check them out. (not paid for ad)

Besides the weather, Katie & Richard were most surprised they made their 5:00AM flight for their honeymoon!
