Lisa & Patrick | The Landing 1841

Lisa & Patrick are married!

As all midwesterns know, the weather in October turns from beautiful autumn to a quick “winter is here”. It felt like that change was early this year, in the beginning of October. The wind changes, the grey clouds stick around and the thought of snow is on everyones mind. Although snow was in the forecast for the morning of their wedding, Lisa & Patrick were adamant in hosting their ceremony outdoors, in front of the willow tree at The Landing 1841.

As we drove to meet them in the morning, bundled up in scarves and gloves, we both agreed “the ceremony will probably move indoors.” As I talked with Lisa that morning, she said “oh no, we’re having it outside. That’s what will look best for photos, right?” I think I told Lisa for the tenth time how cool she was and then she ate some Taco Bell tacos. Seriously, Lisa was the most chill, collected bride ever… and quite a beauty too!

Patrick was super chill himself. It’s easy to see how Lisa & Patrick get along so well. Lisa & Patrick are literally two peas in a renovated pod (#burnheartsrenovation). Patrick gave the best advice to future brides & grooms we’ve heard yet: “Do a first look. Don’t do a grand march.” Seriously, can we be more on par with this?

Lisa said her favorite part of the day was “Holding Patrick’s hand at our ceremony and our first dance… tambourines and all!” In the most unique first dance we’ve seen, Lisa & Patrick danced to The Lumineers – Hey Ho. Family and friends were equipped with tambourines, sang and played along as Lisa & Patrick danced in the middle.

As great as Patrick’s advice was, we also loved Lisa’s tip for future brides & grooms: “The moment you’re announced as Bride and Groom and you both turn around to walk down the aisle – PAUSE first and take in the moment together, holding hands. Look around at all your favorite friends, family and loved ones celebrating your love on your Big Day. The start of your new adventures together. It’s extremely powerful. We will always cherish that memory!”

Congratulations Lisa & Patrick!
