Sam & Josh | An Intimate Milwaukee Elopement

share /

Sam & Josh are married!

When Sam & Josh reached out to us, they had a vision in mind for what they were looking for. Not only did they want a super intimate wedding, they wanted a different type of photo shoot. They didn’t want traditional wedding photos, but rather a few statement pieces. They wanted artwork instead of poses. It was obvious in the way they spoke how excited they were to finally get married.

Way back, Sam & Josh actually went to highschool together. They say they officially met at a Marilyn Manson concert! Josh’s girlfriends were all invited back stage but, per Mr. Manson’s request, no men were allowed (yeah – insert a few awkward/creep/scared face emoji’s here). When Sam noticed Josh standing by himself, he struck up a conversation. Over the years, Sam & Josh dated on and off through moves. A few years ago, and totally unplanned, they found themselves living in the same apartment complex. Josh extended the gesture for Sam to use his bicycle… and from then on, these two would be together forever.

For their wedding day, Sam & Josh met us at our studio for some relaxed photographs. We then headed to the Iron Horse Hotel for their intimate, 2 witnesses, 1 officiant and 2 photographer, ceremony. The ceremony was emotional from all sides especially when Sam & Josh each read their own vows.

They went straight into their “first dance” which was M. Ward’s cover of Let’s Dance by David Bowe. It felt like a scene straight out of a movie!

“Everything I’ve learned I have forgotten
Everything I’ve forgotten looks just like new
I pulled the ends out for the tie that binds
To keep my promise with you”

Sam & Josh, Congratulations!
We are beyond honored to have captured your day!
