Emily and John had a vision for their wedding day that we were particularly drawn to. The entire day reflected their own style. They made their own traditions and made the day unique and special; just the way weddings should be.
We knew every detail was meticulously planned at the South Shore Pavilion but the whole day had an ease about it that relaxed everyone involved. The day for us began in Emily and Johns hotel room. John showered, did his hair and gathered his things while Emily relaxed and got her makeup done. After John went to a friends room to get dressed, Emily had the room packed with her closest friends, sisters and mother. They laughed, painted their nails and awed at Emily as she sewed herself into her homemade wedding gown. Yes, she sewed herself into her gown. Talk about a crafty bride!
Although Emily and John were more casual on the morning of their wedding, John cried the entire time Emily walked down the isle. There’s just something about seeing your bride walking down that aisle… it was very emotional! The emotions didn’t stop the entire night as their friends and family from around the country shared stories of Emily and John.
Instead of a first dance, they told guests to create a piñata. There were about 10 to smash when the time came. They were all different and all erupted with different things: bouncy balls, chocolate, suckers, ping pong balls and one with 100% glitter (that exploded onto TJ). It was an awesome day.
Thank you for including us in your wedding day. We can’t be more thankful for your NY hospitality and making your wedding day… your own.
