Melanie & Justin are engaged! For their engagement session, we met them close to their new home in Cedarburg.
When Melanie’s initial inquiry came in, we knew right away we wanted to work with them. She was so personable right off the bat. In December, when we began communication, Melanie & Justin didn’t actually have their day set yet. We crossed our fingers that the stars aligned and we’d be able to photograph their wedding at Eagle Waters Resort in Eagle River. It’s a special place for them where they like to hang out with friends, family and fish.
Taking a few steps back, it all began at Ernie’s, a local wine bar in Cedarburg. Justin met Melanie’s parents at Ernie’s well before meeting Melanie. Her parents would occasionally mention “their friend Justin at the wine bar”. One night, Melanie went to Ernie’s to meet her parents and Justin was there. They briefly spoke and Justin bought her a drink. Then… three months passed. Finally, Justin called Melanie’s mom for her number and mom spilt all the details. Their first date was at Black Sheep in Milwaukee. Two days later, they went out for margaritas before a haunted house. The two have been inseparable since.
In the midst of wedding planning, they bought their first home together in Cedarburg, just a few blocks from the adorable downtown area. We met them at one of their favorite local spots for a beer before their engagement session. Ernie’s was closed for the day! As we walked around town, they told us more stories about their love, their wedding day and the future. Needless to say, we’re so excited and honored to be a part of their most special day!
