Meet Abby and Ryan!

These two joined the Uttke Photography family last week when we photographed their engagement session on Marquette’s beautiful campus.

Their story started back in 2010 when they met at the now defunct Live bar on North ave but it took a few months after that before these two would talk again.  Attending a Ben Folds show with friends, they told us they “randomly” were seated next to each other and that was all she wrote.

Six years after that concert and many many dates, Ryan finally proposed to Abby.  He enlisted the help of a lot of friends and family to aid in one of the most thoughtful proposal stories we have heard.  Starting with a “study date” at the Urban Ecology Center, Ryan busted out his guitar and took Abby on a walk.  One by one friends would appear along the trail to join them in the walk.  When they got to the top of the hill both immediately families were waiting and Ryan got done on one knee to ask for Abby’s hand in marriage.  Abby told us, “it was an amazing day with family and friends that Ryan spent a long time planning!”

Abby and Ryan will tie the knot next May at Gesu Church and the Pfister hotel.  We know it will be a beautiful day and we can’t wait to be a part of it!
