Melissa & Mack | A Cafe Brauer Wedding

Melissa & Mack are married!

Their entire day was held at the uniquely beautiful, Cafe Brauer, in Chicago’s Lincoln Park Zoo. This was, hopefully, our first of many weddings at Cafe Brauer. The building and room are gorgeous! We met Melissa at Hyatt Magnificent Mile. While she got ready with her family and friends, Mack prepped for the day at their condo in the Fulton Market neighborhood.

While Melissa got pampered, Mack debated on whether his best man should go to the emergency room! Earlier in the day, the men got straight razor shaves. A piece of hair flew into the best man’s eye. The tiny, tiny hair caused quite a bit of irritation. Soon before TJ and Mack left for the First Look, he announced that something wasn’t right and he needed to go to the emergency room.

As we took wedding party photographs before the ceremony, Mack called the hospital and said something along the lines of “I know you cannot really talk to me about this but there is a man in your waiting room in a tuxedo. He’s my best man! I know he’ll get here when he gets here but could you please send him out with a eye patch?” The response was a solemn and calm, “Thank you for calling. We’ll see what we can do.”

Well, the hospital did not give him a patch but a good friend decided to take matters into his own hand. The best man made it to the ceremony with minutes to spare, a scratched cornea and a pirate eye patch. Melissa said this was her biggest surprise on the wedding day! She said, “my biggest surprise was finding out our best man turned out to be a pirate!” It certainly was a unique situation!

Mack’s biggest surprise was seeing Melissa in her wedding gown. When the First Look came around, Mack simply didn’t take his eyes off of his bride. Her petite frame was made for that Sarah Seven gown! Collectively, Mack and Melissa said their favorite part of the day was, “… every second of it! It was an amazing feeling to make that commitment to one another while being surrounded by everyone we loved.” To top it all off, Finelli Designs designed the engagement ring and wedding rings – just stunning!
