A Beautiful and Colorful Milwaukee Summer Engagement Story

Bailey & Jay met through a mutual friend in their Green Bay high school. For years, they remained friends.  However, while Bailey was home from UW-Milwaukee in the summer of 2010 sparks flew. They dated long distance for three years while Bailey finished school then Jay moved down to Milwaukee.

I, Shannon, feel like Bailey & Jay knew they would be together ’til the end for a long time. When I met Bailey in 2013, she was already saying that when the day finally came, she would love for us to photograph her and Jay’s wedding. It wasn’t until early 2017 when we met Jay but seeing these two together, it’s easy to see what Bailey knew. They have a deep mutual love for beer and nature and also have a similar fun sense of humor. Jay even paints Bailey’s nails (true – sorry Jay. It’s too adorable to not share)! They literally go together like cheese and wine (or beer).

As soon as they got engaged, TJ and I got the message: “We are very excited to finally be planning a wedding after being together for over 6 years!” We met over cheese and beer (of course) to talk about their plans. The venue wasn’t set yet but they knew they wanted us there. Eventually, Bailey & Jay landed on Barnsite Retreat in Kewaunee, Wisconsin in August 2018!
