A Garden Party

share /

Last year, we got to know the Kezman family because we photographed Jenny & Dan’s wedding.  We knew then this family was special. Through the immediate family to second-cousins, they are all so kind and caring. When the family found out Mrs. Kezman, Margie, has breast cancer the earth shook. After Mr. Kezman, Tim, and Margie were leaving the first meeting, she said to him “I hate the term ‘Quadruple Negative’. I’m calling it Quadruple Positive”.  Treatments began very shortly after.

Because of the treatments Margie isn’t able to plant her garden this year. And, my goodness, you should see her garden! Throughout the year, she collects clippings from plants and grows them in her greenhouse over the winter. In spring, she plants everything she’s grown. As soon as the diagnosis came, the family knew what they had to do.

Over Memorial Day weekend, Sunday started pretty cool and rainy. Family and friends gathered in the Kezman garage until it was time to come out. Margie was so surprised! Everyone came to plant her garden for her. If she can’t get dirty, we will.As soon as Margie stepped outside of the door, and heard “SURPRISE!”, the rain stopped and the sun came out. What normally takes Margie alone a weekend to plant, everyone planted in an hour. After planting, lunch was served. Over lunch, Jenny told me how well her mom’s treatments are going. We’re all so optimistic!

Keep Margie’s Quadruple Positive energy in your thoughts and send her even more positive vibes!
